Who you're dealing with...
Gordon A. MacKinnon - President Involved in the Cedar Industry since 1975 (cedar and roofing supply sales since 1982). Born in Morningside Alberta, Gordon's first career was in food catering in Alberta. The highlight of that part of his business life was for his company to be chosen to cater to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and Prince Charles on one of their Royal visits to Canada. After selling his catering business, Gordon moved to Surrey, BC. After managing a transportation company doing business in the cedar industry, in 1979 Gordon bought a newly designed shake saw-machine and began manufacturing Tapersawn cedar shakes, Gordon soon realized that his niche was in marketing. His business, an ‘All Canadian Group’ of companies, grew from Tapersawn sales to all cedar roofing materials and supplies and also non cedar roofing materials and roofers tools. Gordon sold his ‘All Canadian Group’ with sales offices and yards in Surrey BC, Port Coquitlam BC, Acton ON, and Bellingham WA. At Stoney Cedar Ltd., with a sales office and yard and a sales/accounting office in Surrey BC, Gordon and his staff sell all types of roofing materials, specializing in cedar shakes and shingles, roofing supplies and roofing tools. For several years Gordon donated the cedar roofing for the Pacific National Exhibition Show Homes and the Show Homes for the BC Place Home Shows. He was awarded Supplier of the Year 1991 for Special Events by the Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association. Gordon has been interviewed by political parties for his views on the Shake and Shingle Industry, Free Trade and Tarriffs, and has been a guest on radio talk shows and television, speaking on application problems and solutions for roofing. He also enjoys participating at Home Shows and in general, talking to people. He is a director in the BC Shake and Shingle Association, sponsors and supports the Cedar Kings, a Senior Men's fast ball team, skips a curling team at the Royal City Curling Club, and is the Chairman for the Northwood United Church Outreach Committee. Gordon is married to Judy, who is also very active in the promotion of the Shake and Shingle Industry. Together they have six grown children and four grandchildren.  Return to top of pageCameron G. MacKinnon - Manager Involved in the Cedar Industry since 1982 (since 1985 in Cedar and Roofing supply and sales). Cameron started out at his father's mill, cutting and manufacturing Ridge Capping. He soon was foreman of the crew and later Yard Manager. Cam entered the office one day and never looked back. He started helping with office duties and cedar sales and later was managing the main ‘All Canadian’ branch in Surrey. Cam now manages the Stoney Cedar office and yard. Cam coaches a slow pitch mixed baseball team, is on a volleyball team and is a crossword puzzle wizard. Return to top of pageJudy MacKinnon - Promotions Judy looks after all the promotional material for Stoney Cedar. Using her computer skills she produces all the Stoney Cedar brochures and information materials. Judy makes sure that the Sales and Accounts office is organized and running at top efficiency. Judy also enjoys drawing and painting and drew all the computer illustrations in the Shake and Shingle and the Roofers Tools and Supplies sections of this web site as well as writing and designing the many brochures and pamphlets that Stoney Cedar gives away at trade shows , etc., or send out free by mail to anyone requesting them. Together with Gordon, they have six grown children and four grandchildren. Return to top of pageBob Moraes - Cedar Sales/Loading Bob has been involved in Cedar and Roofing Sales since 1988. Bob worked with Gordon in the ‘All Canadian Group’ and was manning a branch when the new owners decided to close the group. Bob then came to Stoney Cedar. He is very knowledgeable in all cedar products and is also the expert in our asphalt and metal roofing materials and accessories. If Stoney Cedar doesn't carry a particular roofing product, Bob will see if he can get it for you. Bob's hobbies are fishing, camping and fly tying. Bob has two children with his wife Bobbi Jo. Return to top of pageJohn Quesnel - Cedar Sales/Yard Bob has been involved in Cedar and Roofing Sales since 1988. John has been in the Cedar insdustry since 1982 as a millworker, yard manage and salesman. John worked with Gordon in the "All Candian Group", he was running the Port Coquitlam branch when the companies were sold. He's happy to be back with the gang at Stoney Cedar Ltd.
